clarkston, GA
TCBC partners with the Send Relief Atlanta Ministry Center in Clarkston, a suburb of Atlanta often called “the Ellis Island of the South.” Clarkston is home to refugees and immigrants from more than 50 countries and 100 ethnic groups. With a population of 60–70% foreign-born residents, Clarkston is a hub for resettlement and a natural launching point for ministry focused on meeting both the physical and spiritual needs of those starting a new life in the U.S. This ministry center partners with churches, church planters, and community organizations to respond to urgent needs, such as food insecurity, foster care support, and human trafficking recovery, always pointing people to the hope found in Christ. This is a great first “international” missions experience only 4 hours from the Tri-Cities.

The Send Relief Appalachia Ministry Center is located in a strategic tri-state area near the borders of Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. This ministry center helps rural communities end generational cycles of poverty, food insecurity, and prevalent struggles with addiction and serves as a crisis response mobilization point. They provide literacy and education resource, offer medical and dental care, serve the homeless population, and resource Southern Baptist Disaster Relief teams across the nation. Thirteen of Kentucky’s Appalachian counties are considered “at risk,” meaning they rank between the lowest 10% and 25% of counties nationwide for unemployment rates and income data. Young adults in this region are some of the most disadvantaged in the entire country. This partner provides a great first missions experience only 3.5 hours from the Tri-Cities.

go seasons
2 Months – 2 Years
Go Seasons are mid-term trips, from around two months to two years. Given the extended time of the trip, the shape of Go Seasons can look quite a bit different from shorter Go Trips. While Go Seasons are open to anyone, they are often the best fit for someone who is in college, retired, or in a gap year between jobs or education.
Go Seasons are available for 2026 with most of the partners we serve, including Clarkston, Bogota, and Uganda. Contact the Go Team to learn more about a GO Season
